4 : TYPE OF BROODINGS.
It is the First and most important step in Poultry industry
for poultry farmer. If brooding is done properly then chicks get healthy with
less mortality.
WHAT IS BROODING IN POULTRY FARMING ?
In broiler poultry farming chicks required different temperature at
different age but brooding in considered to be maintaining proper temperature
and ventilation during first 14 days as
per the requirement. So artificially maintaining
the temperature as per requirement is called as brooding. During 1st
week chicks required 35 celcius and on 2nd week 32.2 celcius. During
1st two weeks birds are too sensitive so its important to focus on brooding. During this fourteen
days feather gradually developed on body of chick and after fourteen days
chicks with feather able to fight with atmosphere naturally. As birds are too
sensitive it is necessary to take care of birds during first fourteen days.

ELECTRIC
BULB BROODING.
It is the most commonly
type of brooding which is used in indian poultry farming by farmer. When we
start bulb it start heating gradually also spread light which attract chicks. It is
also economical to farmer as bulb are less expensive as well as easily
available in market. But electricity play an important role in this kind of
brooding. If power is off we either want
generator back up or another source of brooding.
Now how much bulb we used for
brooding is depend on season during
winter season we want 4watt/bird while
during rainy season we want 3watt/bird. And in summer we want 2watt/bird. also
keep in mind that only bulb of
particular watts is not enough we also want proper voltage to get
required temperature.
ELECTRIC
BROODERS :
Brooding using an electric brooder
is also an easy and important type of brooding. Electric brooders are available
at any poultry equipment shops. Initial costing of brooder is high but brooders
cover more chicks as per its specification 1000 to 2500 birds .

disadvantage as light is the basic factor. Generator or second source of
electricity must required.
GAS
BROODER :
gas are used for brooding purpose.
Special design brooder are available which generate heat and make environment
warm. Main advantage is that if we have gas cylinders we had no need of another
source like electricity, generators, diesel brooders.
As rates of cylinders
increase continuously it is expensive also precaution should be taken as it is
flammable .
DIESEL
BROODER :
It
is an one man army it available in wide range like for 5000 birds, for 6000
birds and more. It cost also high also diesel consumption is more and main
disadvantage is that its result is good only when whole shed is packed no air
from outside enter inside shed .
also want electricity it doesn’t work without
electricity . so no matter of using it if you have electricity you prefer for electric brooder as it is less
expensive also profitable compare to fuel.
BUKHARI
:
Brooding using bukhari is an traditional
way, in this type of brooding coal or woods
are fired inside a design barrel. Barrel are design in such a way that
smoke go through chimney also heat should spread inside whole shed in all
direction . precaution should be taken while using bukhari as fire is dangerous
also try that smoke not produce inside shed. Generally bukhari are used only
that places where there is no availability of electricity.
Now from my point of view if we had
a electricity always prefer electric bulb
as they are easily available with low price. Also as light glows
atmosphere inside shed is healthy so chicks become more active
